Engr. Mark Gil S. Hizon is a registered Agriculture and Biosystems Engineer. He is a scholar of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) where he is also employed now. Engr. Hizon is currently the Unit head of the DOST Research and Development Innovation Management where he facilitates and supervises Projects and activities in relation to the promotion and implementation of the R & D agenda of DOST 2. He co-authored several publications in scientific journals of which he was awarded three times in the DOST International Publications Award. He is a National Topnotcher (3rd placer) when he took the 2000 board examination for Agriculture and Biosystems Engineer. He took up his Masters in Environment and Natural Resources Management at the University of the Philippines. Also, he finished his Masters in Public Administration at Cagayan State University as DOST HRDP scholar. He is actively involved in the Smart Water Infrastructure and Management (SWIM) R&D program of Isabela State University as support staff in one of the projects of the said program. SWIM R&D Program aims to introduce innovative water management approaches thru institutionalizing a university- based water research center to undertake R&D education, capacity building programs in the water resources sector and river basins, and provide technical extension services.
