| Dr Balderama is an Agriculture and Biosystems Engineer by profession, R&D administrator, and consultant in the fields of agriculture and irrigation engineering/ management, water resources, river basin, climate change and disaster risk management. He is presently a Full Professor, at the College of Engineering and Vice President for Research and Development at the Isabela State University at Echague, Isabela. At present, he serves as a consultant of an ADB project on Climate Change Risk and Adaptation / Restoration Option Assessment in Cambodia, Myanmar and the Philippines and The Mindanao Irrigation Development project. He also coordinates for the Philippines a multi-lateral project on Integrated Flood and Sediment Management in ASEAN River Basins for Sustainable Development with Kyoto University and Thuyloi University. He has contributed more than 100 publications in scientific journals, books and conference proceedings and a recipient of national and regional awards such as Outstanding Agricultural Scientist, Outstanding Research Manager, Outstanding Agricultural Engineer, Outstanding government employee and Outstanding Alumnus. Prof. Balderama has a BS in Engineering at Isabela State Univ. (cum laude), Masters in Engineering at Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand; PhD and PostDoc degrees in Water Resource Engineering at the University of Tokyo, Japan. | |
